The teaming of Juliana Coles of Me & Pete Productions and Lou Ann Granger of Echoes des Voyages provides a unique combination of backgrounds and talents for this Greek Odyssey 2007.  Lou Ann's experience with the practical side of distant travel, and Juliana's extensive background on guiding individuals on the inner journey, work together to create a safe and enriching environment to explore both the inner and outer layers of our explorations.

Juliana Coles of Me and Pete Productions

Juliana Coles, award winning artist, Creative Expression teacher and pioneering Visual Journalist, received her BFA from the Academy of Art College, San Francisco with a minor in English and Dance. Coles has studied with well known Illustrator Barron Storey who encouraged her Mixed Media Journals, and muralist Juana Alicia Montoya whose passion as an artist and activist convinced Coles to define her own style of Contemporary Expressionism. Coles, based on her expression as an artist, developed Extreme Journalism as a workshop in 1992 for the Epilepsy Society of San Francisco, and has taught and refined this unique creative process that combines journal writing assignments with art making explorations in the safe container of a book ever since.   Juliana has been keeping journals since she was eleven, worked in sketchbooks since she could hold a crayon,  and has been creating Visual Journals Since she was fourteen.

Juliana Coles' Visual Journals are featured in “Making Journals By Hand,” by  Jason Thompson, and Somerset Studio's 2000 engagement Calendar. Her Journals appear in Karen Michel's " Complete Guide To Altered Imagery," Lynne Perrella's "Artist's Sketchbooks".    (more info available at www.meandpete.com)

Lou Ann Granger of Echoes des Voyages

Lou Ann brings a unique travel background to this team, having traveled to over 30 countries  for pleasure and business.  She has led many groups on domestic travels during many years of volunteer work in youth sports,.  She has also led groups on international business travel to such places as Italy and Australia during her previous career as a research engineer working with international Navies and conducting major sea trials of advanced navy systems.

Upon early retirement, she formed her own artistic rubber stamp company, Echoes des Voyages, offering original and antique images that reflect the romance of travel.  "Images of Travel - Real and Imagined".  Having discovered Juliana Coles' Extreme Visual Journaling retreats about 2 years ago, she found her recent travels have been greatly enriched by using some of the techniques and ideas of Visual Journaling along the way.
